SAW Resonator
Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Resonators leverage electromechanical waves propagating on a piezoelectric substrate, typically quartz or lithium tantalate/niobate. They are particularly suited for stable signal generation at higher frequencies (typically 300 MHz to over 1 GHz) compared to fundamental mode bulk crystals. SAW Resonators offer good stability, low phase noise, and are commonly used in remote controls, keyless entry systems, security systems, and short-range RF communication devices. Offered in compact SMD packages.
